Jujutsu Kaisen: The Fact And The Reason, Why Satoru Gojo Always Covered His Eyes With Blindfold
In the fight with Jogo, audiences are able to witness Gojo’s Limitless and Unlimited Void powers as he is able to beat Jogo and secure a victory. This was the first time we ever saw Satoru take off his blindfold and what he had underneath (was stunning) was his eyes. However, this also aroused doubts in the fans’ minds. Why is he closing his eyes with a blind fold?
There can not be a single doubt in anyone’s mind that Gojo Satoru is the strongest sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. In the course of the series, multiple times both sorcerers and spirits who find him as threatening have told him that.
Gojo not only distinguishes himself in the ranking of his powers, but he also has a unique appearance. By putting the blindfold on his eyes, his eyes have become as much of a trait which the others have come to identify with as it is a stand-out feature of him.
In this fight, audiences are able to witness Gojo’s powers on a level that breach Limitless and Unlimited Void during the encounter with Jogo. This was the first time we saw Satoru pull his blindfold off and reveal his (spectacular) eyes.
However, this also raises questions in the minds of his fan club. Why should he feel compelled to hide his eyes under a veil? Satoru wore a pair of sunglasses that played the role of a blindfold, instead of covering his eyes well for the past time. This may be the same as other sorcerers covering their eyes for the same reason. Situation was changed only when the entire Tengen incident occurred related to the student Riko Amanai’s vessel.
In the end, we expect that the reason behind Satoru hiding his eyes is because of what he can eventually become. It has been unveiled in the manga by Gege Akutami that the only difference of Gojo Satoru from those sorcerers is in the reason why he covers his eyes. Is it to stop his domain expansion? Even if the explanation has not been specified in the manga yet, it has something to do with the sensei’s powers, and his Six Eyes Technique, in particular.
Why does Gojou Satoru hide behind sunglasses?
In brief; Gojou Satoru closes his eyes in order to prevent the whole sensing power of his Six Eyes technique through which he can see everything easily. The six eyes method is to admit that it is not known to most people. It is a tactile form of getting really close to the cursed energy such that he can see everything about it in the smallest details.
The Six Eyes technique is an important factor in mastering the Infinity technique to its maximum value. We get an entirely new dimension when we see infinity in Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 7, while watching the fight against Jogo.

He almost finely tuned his confident Six Eyes and was able to perceive everything till the real point to such an extent that he could see even people in terms of weight, cursed energy, etc. It had its effect.
But if he does not use any blindfold, his energy will be wasted soon. Even using the reverse cursed energy on his brain to keep it fresh would not have much impact in this case. He would have to narrow down his vision if he wanted to avoid these consequences from arising. Besides, even the spectacles that
Gojo used in the flashback are completely blackened in colour. And if the normal people are wearing this they are not able to see anything through it. It is likely that he moved to the blindfold because it did a much better job of closing his eyes.
This poses a fresh problem of concern to our minds.
Does Gojo become blind when his eyes are covered?
Are his eyesight blindfolding and his glasses that do these both completely? Then, does he go completely blind? Jujutsu Kaisen’s fanook was the medium Gege Akutami, manga’s author, used to reveal that under the blindfold Satoru’s eyes see!
His vision is something like Heat-Graphics-in-3D when he is blindfolded. He indeed sees buildings and objects that are not living, since they retain an evil energy that he can detect. It is the reason why Six eyes and the Infinity technique are like that; they are always on!
However, that was not always a fact.

At the previous event when Riko Amanai was, Satoru used to control himself the Infinity and Six Eyes instead of letting them affect him. After a while, it no longer appeared necessary for him to hide his eyes from that point on. However, since Toji attacked him unexpectedly, he felt a need to get stronger and have better senses.
When Gojo Met Toji
Toji was arguably the most fierce enemy that Satoru has had to deal with throughout the anime series. Despite being awake and having the six eyes technique, Satoru couldn’t detect Toji’s presence. However, cursed energy being zero was the main reason why such situations did happen. Satoru had any feelings at all and almost died while fighting against him.
Following that, he started training and perfecting his cursed abilities in order to win the fight. From chapter 76, he tried to do this by using his six eyes technique together with the Limitless so that his Infinity technique could always be ready to use automatically with minimal resources.

He didn’t want to get caught unguarded for a second time. During a single year he was able to categorize items in progression of badness levels by determining their total cursed energy density. In fact, he not only could discern them by mass and speed with which they were moving, but also orientated himself according to them to avoid the damage.
However, had the replay been used all the time, Satoru’s brain would have become washed because of the vast amount of info that had to be processed all the time. He also learned Reverse Cursed Technique to keep his mind contrasting and fully rejuvenated. In the end, when he finally reached this degree, his eyes learned to see more than less. Therefore, Gojo is forced to cover his eyes.
Yet one more possible cause of closing eyes
Watching with his eyes all the time, Gojou could simply start relying on his eyes more instead of relying on his Six Eyes technique. This would give an opportunity to people like Toji to pull him into their groups again. This means that by covering his eyes, Gojou could be showing his unconscious effort to stay on the offensive using the Six Eyes technique.
